The Yuba County Five

On the evening of February 24, 1978, five men (known collectively as The Boys) left their Yuba City homes to go to a basketball game. They made the 50-mile trip northward and watched as U.C. Davis (their favorite team) destroyed Chico State. 

The win left The Boys in high spirits and their celebratory mood stayed with them as they stopped for snacks on the return trip home. 

On the morning of February 25, 1978, The Boys families awoke to a dreadful realization. The realization that The Boys had not made it home. 

Due to circumstances that remain shrouded in mystery to this very day, they never would.
